Polysomnogram & MSLT

A Polysomnogram is an overnight sleep study used to test for sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movements and many other sleep disorders. The test monitors heart rhythm, brain waves, movements, oxygen levels and breathing patterns during sleep. A sleep technician records all of this data and it's then analyzed by Dr. Jochims.

An MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) typically follows a Polysomnogram. It's a daytime sleep study that's used to diagnose narcolepsy (falling asleep suddenly during alert activities) and idiopathic hypersomnia (extreme sleepiness). Patients taking this test lay down to nap every two hours and a sleep technician monitors how deeply and quickly they fall asleep. A sleep technician records all of this data and it's then analyzed by Dr. Jochims.
